Rocket '56 (Pub l'Île Noire)

Le Pub l'Île Noire - Montreal

Photo set of the Montreal rockabilly band Rocket '56. The concert took place at le Pub l'Île Noire on September 7, 2012. This was my first photo shoot ever with the Pentax K-5 in a bar/club, or any other place for that matter. The K-5 was mounted with the kit lens throughout the entire show, the Pentax DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR, my only lens at that moment. I must have hit the RAW/Fx button on the side of the K-5 at some point during the evening because it triggered the K-5 to switch to JPEG mode. I ended up with more than half of my pictures being in JPEG instead of RAW. Unfortunately, the pictures are a lot noisier because of this. I've assign the RAW/Fx button to another function since this incident. I guess it's much better to learn this lesson in the beginning. All in all, it was a great first practice with the K-5 and introduction to DSLRs. My previous camera, a Nikkormat FT-3, had been my best companion since 1984.
