Le Quai des Brumes - Montreal
Here are some photos of the Montreal rockabilly band Rocket '56. These pictures were shot at Le Quai des Brumes in Montreal where they performed on November 26, 2012. The event was held to raise funds for Le Théâtre Tête au Corps. Studio 88 Swing dance school gave an introduction to swing dance prior to the show. Most of these pictures were shot with a Pentax K-5 mounted with a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. Photos were edited in Lightroom 3.
Donovan, lead singer and sax player of the band. This shoot was taken a few moments before the show. In the background, you can see Danick setting up his drum set while Donovan was watching the Studio 88 students/dancers learning a few dance steps and getting ready for the show.
Chris (guitar) and Danick (drums) setting up for the show. This is a super sharp/high contrast photo shot with a Pentax K-5 and a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. AAMOF, most pictures in this set were shot using this camera/lens combo. Other pictures were shot with a Pentax FA-50mm f/1.4 lens.
This is another pre-show photo. In what appears to be an upcoming duel between two boxers, you can see Sean (in the left corner) tuning his upright bass and Chris (in the right corner) tuning up his guitar.
